smack perfect in the middle

So last night, me and Stephen embarked on a well-planned adventure to Parramatta to watch Lucy's band play their very first gig at the Mars Hill Cafe. I've never been there before and I didn't really take many high quality photos, but it's one of those cosy, homely places that you read so much about in magazines like Frankie with squishy old couches and pleasant home-style food and laid-back atmosphere, but never actually see in real life anywhere.
After getting dropped off at Hinchinbrook T-way station by mum and just missing the bus I was meant to take, I stood around waiting for the next one. I think it's amazing that I looked up the bus times and found that it came at 6 45 or so, and, despite being the T-way station being a one-and-a-half minute drive from my house, I still managed to miss the dumb bus. After almost getting hit by Parramatta-to-Liverpool buses three times, my bus finally arrived. Upon arriving at Bonnyrigg, where Stephen was awaiting the bus, we were told we had to change buses to the one sitting in front of us, so we popped on, Stephen not having to pay for a ticket.
On the bus, we discussed stately affairs such as the venue for the Year 12 Formal, and decided upon Patrick's house, so we set up plans for seating, and entertainment for the night. We don't want to give too much away just now coz we'd like it to be a surprise, but just to get you guys excited, it includes the 100-rough people attending getting in queues for their very own choice between Guitar Hero, engaging in an intense game of a-bit-less-than-half-court basketball, floating awkwardly in inflatable ducks in Patrick's pool, or the ever-popular option of Foozball.
After texting Patrick some details of our plans, we stepped off the bus at Parramatta T-way station, where we spent some time spreading our new subculture of Cute Lads, or Sissy Lads if you prefer, by shanking people adorably, graffing up some walls, and eshing up on some cute weeds. We didn't. After I struggled to read the map, Stephen revealed that IRL maps aren't the same as WoW maps, and that that was the reason why I was having so much difficulty, so Stephen took the lead with his map-reading capabilities and before we knew it we arrived at the Mars Hill Cafe.

I'm serious, I couldn't read this linear piece of shit.

Confused as to whether or not we should actually enter the cafe, we stood around awkwardly outside sipping orange juice and water, debating whether or not to get food first from a restaurant. After spotting a sign on the inside of the cafe that said 'More seating upstairs,' we made our way inside and awkwarded our way upstairs.
Upon entering the room everyone turned around and stared at us, as you would when people enter rooms, which I really wish people wouldn't do. Stephen handed me his bottle of water and pointed out Lucy near the stage, before heading back downstairs to splurge some piss in a toilet. After about eight seconds Lucy looked up, looked at me, and looked back down, coz she didn't recognize me, then took a double-take and walked up to greet me. I told her Stephen was urinating downstairs and she replied that it was nice of us to come. After a bit Stephen came back and we just stood around talking about what songs she was going to do and other band-related things. I filmed the entire set as a single half hour video, as opposed to breaking it up song-by-song.

A high quality photo.

After Lucy's duo finished, she came by and we talked a bit more about school, and we were introduced to her boyfriend Owen, who has really firm hands and is taller than me. We then watched the second band who played. After that, me and Stephen bade farewells to Lucy and Owen and left to find something to eat. Since we were unsure as to what to eat, we decided to eat one of the various fancy restaurants lining Church St.
After realising that we had just walked past every single one of them, we decided on the place opposite Oportos and Stephen and I shared a romantic pizza dinner at an expensive Italian restaurant, where we ate the pizza with knives and forks. We ordered a nice woodfired BBQ Meat Lover. After realising we would have to give a tip when we finished eating (because, after all, we were eating at an expensive restaurant), we told the waiter to shut up. When we finished we were given the bill in a strange black leather book, which I'm assuming is how bills are given in expensive restaurants. We decided to wing it and walk up to the counter, and handed the black leather booklet thing to the guy at the counter, who took it and walked away without looking if there was anything inside.
Upon leaving we realised we were both still hungry, so we headed across the road to Oportos, where we ordered food, took many Bacon and Egg Rappa Only $1.98 Handouts, and I went to the toilet. As we ate, we discussed things like chicken. After we finished eating, we began walking back towards Westfields, where we were getting picked up. We stopped on the way because Stephen was STILL hungry and bought himself a $1 donut from 7-11 while I looked at straws. The cool guy at the counter asked Stephen if he wanted a pineapple donut, to which Stephen replies No, to which the counter guy responds by giving us a free pineapple donut. After that, we continued on our path to Westfields, when we were suddenly gripped by a fear that we would get mugged. It didn't help that we heard some assholes on another street screaming. THEN WE MADE IT TO STEPHENS MUMS CAR AND WENT HOME, THE END.

so like..

i keep forgetting to say this, so like, yeah ill just put it here. but ill also mention it in person, since.. kinda lame if i leave it to mean something through some pixels on your screen.

OMGZ UAI HSC BRAH. - as they say.

so I guess I'll post something relevant to what the guys described me as.. ( blog description ).

59629 candidates in 2008

0.00038% 100 UAI

approx ~1.6% receive 99UAI or greater

you will need a scaled aggregate of 447~ or greater to achieve a UAI of 99 or greater.

That means that you will need an aligned mark ( the average assessment and examination mark ) that will enable you to have a band 6 across the board.

I assumed the completion of ext 2 maths , adv english, eco, phys, chem and ext 1maths .

Replacing Adv. English with Standard ( after taking into account the effects of scaling ) , the scaled mark of std being 70 ( band 3-4 ) produces 95.85, 80 ( band 5 ) 98.05 and 90 ( band 6) yielding a 99.50. The difference is 46 aggregate points between a mark of 70 and mark of 90.
To put it further in perspective, <1% of each cohort, every year gain a band 6 in standard english, however, if you did, it would place you at state ranking in advanced.

If Udit were to keep his current subjects and not take up ext2 maths, his subjects will yield a UAI of 99.70, assuming he can achieve state rankings for all of his subjects with the mark of 95 across the board. The aggregate totals to 463.8, where the highest ( that I know of ) is 497/500, by David Swaine of 2005.

Since the HSC is 50% internal and 50% external, it is very important to rank very high in your own school.
Student A 80 90
Student B 90 80.

Where the first column is internal, and second external, in this two candidate system, student B will recieve an aligned external mark of 90 instead of 80 because they acheived higher internally. Doesn't really follow logic eh.. ( I might've confused myself on this ) but this is how its done. Gets more complicated as more students are entered. Basically, the top student in external examinations recieves the top mark for internals ( makes more sense). I note that I prolly contradicted myself.

ISHRAQ, FEEL FREE TO CORRECT ANY OF THIS.

and questions/comments appreciated ! Im lagging in terms of people being interested in my writings. D=

Forgot to be deep

Usually, once a year, this is my day of reflection. Today I don't feel the need to reflect, at least, not in a sad way.
Yes it's been 13 years, and it affects my family so severely.
But I can't do anything about it.
Celebrate life rather than death, eh?
I will never forget, but I do have to move on. Life awaits.

Athletics Carnival

YEAH FARRER
Went to Brian's house and made fail pancakes. Then scrambled eggs, using milk. Got sick of scrambled eggs and had bacon and egg McMuffins.
Family Guy, Guitar Hero, Fight Club.
Made cookies (UNDERCOOKED) and baby cakes.
Ate raw egg.
Sausage sandwiches.
Was alright, really tired now.

This morning..

This morning, I woke at about 7 45, and was completely overwhelmed by how hungry I was. As in, my stomach was actually aching from hunger, and I wasn't really sure why, because I actually ate a fair bit last night for dinner. So I began removing myself from my bed, trying to get to the kitchen to grab whatever I could find (probz crackers and toast, knowing my family's capabilities in the purchase of basic groceries), but I couldn't because I actually felt that weak from hunger, that it was difficult to remove my blanket and step out of bed. So I layed there for a while. Laid. Lied. Lay. And so after maybe five minutes I made it out of bed, and walked to the kitchen. It wasn't really walking, because my knees and elbows felt weak. I made it to the kitchen, and grabbed a box of crackers and started eating them. At the same time, I put some toast on my Breville grill and took some jam out of the cupboard, my arms shaking slightly this whole time, and my legs making it awkward to walk, a bit.
After I fed myself up and didn't feel so weak anymore, I stood around, waiting for the kettle to boil so I could make some sort of tea, or hot chocolate. As I waited, it began raining, even though the sun was still out.
Extreme hunger, difficulty walking, and strange weather?
It doesn't take an idiot to see I'm turning into a zombie.

SRSLY BUT, ISNT IT WEIRD THAT I POST A BLOG ABOUT STAYING UP REALLY LATE, THEN STEPHEN AND BRIAN TELL ME ABOUT HOW IT FUCKS UP MY DIGESTIVE SYSTEM, AND THEN THE VERY NEXT DAY, IT HAPPENS? OMG./

On a less stupid note, today was Genny's birthday. Yeeeeey Gennnnyyyyy.

Houses

So my parents are always looking in the domain section of the newspaper, looking at houses to buy..

some of them good, some of them not so.

I don't really like the idea of living in my current house for any longer than I have to ( like, after I have a steady job), simply because it's just not nice..

Anyway, I've always imagined myself living in a house I designed and built.
Its gotta be light, white walls in the lounge - except for one, which would be the back wall. A feature wall painted black, or a deep rich purple. Maybe not painted at all but rather a synthetic, textured in black/brushed metal fashion.

Furniture, a common theme, either bright colours, for armchairs and seats.. although browns would also suit. countertops and tables be white or in combination with glass. handles are brushed aluminium, straight lines, not curved. two storey, windows as walls looking out into a sizeable tree, sunlight filtered through looking out into the street. 4 bedroom and study, home theater and twin garage. 2 complete bathrooms, family kitchen.

I dunno.. just something really....uplifting in the day, bright and spacious. But at night, rooms shrink down to a level of cosiness, warmth and relaxation.

Aspirations, v2

Right, so I remembered what I was supposed to say last time
When school is over, what I will do is invite a select few peeople over to my house
When we get to my house, we will sit
We will drink scotch and wear slim-fitting suits
My Audi will be parked out front and will be black or silver. I can't decide which. Black, then. It will be awesome, like a European rave. People will beg to be driven by me because it's so chillaxing in the car.
Awesome.
