what is this shit

Today, after plans to watch Nathan play soccer fell through, Dannis and I decided to make moussaka, which is apparently the national dish of Greece. Neither of us knew what it was meant to taste like, or look like, or anything else for that matter, so we had no idea how this was going to turn out, though past endeavours, like cheese Pho, are solid proof that that's not an excuse to give up and just grab some gozleme for lunch instead. After taking a blurry photo of the recipe from a cooking magazine in Woolies, and deciding to skip out on some of the ingredients because we didn't want to pay for them (we didn't want to buy a whole shaker of nutmeg, so we used cumin instead. You can probably guess why), we headed off back home and just winged it. V good.

... Close enough, even though ours ended up basically as lasagne soup with raw potato slices in it.

First time ever out at the World Bar - after seeing Dune Rats, realising that the guitarist for Chicks Who Love Guns (far right) is actually this guy I see in my arts1090 lectures all the time, seeing a girl get hit by a car, after which said car tried to flee the scene only to reach a traffic light about ten metres down, miraculously bumping into Alissa's birthday crew just in time for a collective Nightride bus crew, and then finally getting home (Matt's place, in this case) at five in the morning, I can say it left a pretty good first impression. I know I got really off-topic there, but I think conclusion is that it was a pretty grand night.
